Slowly but surley getting there
Tuesday, July 10th, 2007Well since our last post things are progressing slowly. We have put the house on the market and have sold a good portion of the stuff in it. Alot of the things we have sold are still here (thanks mom!) to make the house look better to buyers but all the same they are sold. As of today we have had 4 seperate couples look at the house but no buyers yet.
We have been having lots of difficulty getting people whom we have spoken to and that have pledged support to us to send in their Reply Card’s, and even in some cases getting a hold of anyone at all. Our Prayer Letters went out at the beginning of May, well some of them did at least, yet only 2 people have replied to us at all. It is very discouraging to try and gather support both financial and prayer when no one will even return phone calls. But we keep pressing on towards the goal that the Lord has placed before us. a
The other thing that is looming in our not to distant future, is training. We are signed up for 3 weeks of training at Mission Training International http://www.mti.org/ , in September, yet we have not raised any of the support to pay for it, we did however sell our truck, which was a blessing, and are able to pay for about 2/3’s of it. So be praying that the support starts coming in order to pay for the rest.
We have been blessed by having Dr. Joe & Becky Harvey home for the last few months. Joe has really helped us to get our foot in the door in a couple of churches and even with his mother Marlane. We will be speaking at a Sunday in the Park this Sunday(July 15th) for Perry Presbyterian Church. We also will, hopefully (read prayerfully) be speaking at Perry Baptist Church soon as well. And in August we will be heading to Long Island for a weekend, to Joe’s mom’s house, where she will be holding a home group meeting for us. So be praying that these engagments go well and we begin to see the Lords further conformation, leading us to Congo.
Yesterday I started homeschooling Michael for is 8th grade year. We started a bit early to make up for all the time we will be at training and traveling for deputation. He is not really all that thrilled with me to be starting just as other kids are starting their summer vacation, but we do what we have to. He has been done with the previous school year since the end of April, so he has had a bit of time off.
Prayer Requests:
* Traveling Mercies for the Harvey family they leave to go back to Congo August 14th.
* That the Lord will provide for all of our financial needs in the coming months
As always thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers.
God Bless!!
